Schooner Aurora – ALL SAILS DISCONTINUED FOR THE 2023 SEASON

We regret to inform you that the Schooner Aurora, operated by The Newport Experience, was hit by another vessel on the water on Wednesday, June 28th. We want to assure you that no injuries were reported during the incident. However, due to safety protocols and regulations, we are unable to resume sailing until a comprehensive inspection by the Coast Guard has been completed.

The safety and well-being of our crew and passengers are our utmost priority. As a result, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that the Schooner Aurora undergoes a thorough assessment to guarantee its seaworthiness. We are working closely with the Coast Guard to expedite the inspection process and to project a timeline for repairs. We will be reaching out to all affected parties individually.

During this time, all scheduled events and bookings will be temporarily suspended. We understand this may cause inconvenience for those who have made reservations or were planning to embark on an unforgettable journey with us. We deeply apologize for any disruption this may cause, and we assure you that our team is actively working to accommodate affected customers by offering refunds, rescheduling options, or alternative arrangements.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support during this challenging period. The Schooner Aurora has a long-standing history of providing exceptional experiences on the water, and we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and service. Our team will keep you informed of any updates regarding the inspection process, and we will strive to minimize the impact of our valued customers.

COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES

Your health is our top priority and we have updated our safety and health policies to be able to offer fun and safe experiences. We have also put special measures in place to keep all guests safe both during and after your sail.

**Stringent Cleaning** – We have increased the frequency of disinfecting surfaces and high traffic areas between each sail and hand sanitizer will be available to all guests.

**Social Distancing** – Vessel capacity has been limited to avoid large gatherings and to provide social distancing. Guests will stay at a safe 6-foot distance during all points of the sail and loading will be executed using space marks, thus avoiding crowded lines. Crew members and passengers will be required to wear a face covering except when eating and drinking.

**Wellness Checks** – Employees receive daily wellness checks to ensure they are healthy and symptom-free. Passengers will also be screened before boarding. If you or anyone in your group is experiencing symptoms, we will work directly with you to cancel or reschedule your sail.
